Welcome and Volunteer Kickoff!

Hi everyone! My name is Rebecca Hollister and I'm the Campaign Coordinator for Debbie's campaign. That's me below on the right!

Some of you may know me from around town. I used to have a column in the Leavenworth Times called "Mind of the Millennial". I'm a graduate of Leavenworth High School and will be a sophomore at Georgetown University in the fall. But by far the best part of this summer is going to be working on Debbie's campaign. She is one of the most genuine, hardworking, and kind people I have ever met, and I was so excited to accept this job with her campaign.

Well, this time around we have a Primary Election on August 7th, so all the 40th district Democrats need to get out and vote! Then of course we have a General Election on November 6th, so everyone needs to get out and vote to that!

Well, this website certainly needs some updating. Feel free to message our Facebook page with any type of issue you want to see Debbie's stance on here. I'll be updating it mostly next week, so watch for that! We're also going to focus heavily on you guys--I'm actually taking comments on this post (scary, I know) because we want to hear from you! Debbie has fought for you all up in the state legislature for the past two years, including accomplishing the very reason why a lot of you elected her--passing a bipartisan piece of legislature that overturned the Brownback experiment. Before, we were hundreds of millions of dollars in the hole. Now, revenues are exceeding expectations every month! Debbie will continue to fight for your rights in the state legislature.

I'm delighted you asked! We have a Volunteer Kickoff Meeting on Wednesday, June 13th at 7pm at A Deere Place. You can even click on that sentence to go to the Facebook event. At the meeting, we'll be talking about all different ways individuals can help Debbie succeed in August and November, and trust me, there's something for everyone. Can't canvass? You can make phone calls. Can't make phone calls? We'll always have letters that need to be addressed and sealed. Want a yard sign? You got it. We're here to help you help us.

Anyway, I better go start updating this website. Remember if you need anything, don't hesitate to head on over to the "Contact" page and fill out the form, or send us a message on Facebook. Remember to stop by the "Donate" and "Volunteer" pages as well!

P.S.: Please keep comments polite. You don't have to like us, but profanity and disrespect will not be tolerated.
